It is a surgical-aesthetic intervention to reduce the size of the patient's chest, which, in most cases, presents an excessively large volume in relation to the rest of the body (gigantomastia). Although this operation is requested mainly by women, it is also performed on men who suffer from gynecomastia  (super-developed breast tissue) or breast asymmetry. With this technique, fatty tissue, breast tissue and skin are removed, the position of the breasts is raised. 

Breast reduction can be performed on an outpatient basis or with a short hospital stay, depending on the size and complexity of the procedure and the patient's preferences. The procedure usually takes two to four hours and is performed through incisions in the breasts. After the procedure, the patient may need to wear a compression bra for some time to help control swelling and promote proper healing. It is important to follow the surgeon's instructions and exercise and eat a healthy diet after breast reduction to maintain long-term results.
